Dear fellow FLAs,

I would like to thank all of you out there, who have been promoting family life education at your workplaces so zealously in the first half of 2010. In this issue, we focus on a concept known as “Personal Work-Life Effectiveness” (PWLE). Sounds big– but what does it really mean? Those of you who have organised talks on work-life harmony for your staff or associates will know that it’s not rocket science. It simply means a conscious effort to invest your time and effort in key areas of your life that matter.

Cheers to Personal Work-Life Effectiveness

For a start, you may wish to know your options and select what is relevant. To give you a headstart, check out the recommended series of activities, seminars and talks that we have put up, especially for you. Take the first step towards optimising PWLE for you and your organisation now!

Through words of wisdom from our resident family life education expert, Mr Simon Sim, the former General Manager of TOUCH Community Services and a certified trainer for the programme “The Heart of Success – Loving Work & Living Life”, we fast-track you towards becoming more effective in balancing work-life demands.

"Make enough money to run a family but not so much that it would ruin your family”. In other words “Use your time to make money but please ensure you make time to use your money”. Someone once wisely said, “Love is spelled T.I.M.E."
A study done by MCYS and National Family Council in 2007 shows that there is a positive correlation between an employee’s work-life harmony and employee engagement and retention.

To better understand the relevance of the results of the study to organisations, we spoke to the staff of two companies – Sony Electronics and Savi Technology – to find out what they have done to keep their employee motivation levels high.

Thank you for your continued support. We had good response again for the quiz in the May issue of Behind Every Success. Now, join us in congratulating the three lucky winners below:

a) Karyn Chiang

b) Bobby Chng

c) Goh Ching Hsia

You could now be the next lucky winner to walk away with a $50 Kenko Wellness Spa voucher! Simply, take part in the simple quiz.
